Tom Keefe, Ed.D.

Dr. Keefe holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and an M.A. in International Relations. He has taught 6-12 social studies for 20 years. Tom’s current work is on pedagogy and leadership, genocide education, and identity construction. His recent publications include “Race, Identity, and Choice: Black Voices on Liberia and the American Colonization Society” in The African American Experience: From Slavery to Liberation, and “Using Art to Trigger Memory, Intergenerational Learning, and Community” in the International Journal of Lifelong Learning in Art Education, and the paper “Genocide and the Native American Experience” presented at the University of North Carolina - Charlottesville conference Denial: The Final Stage of Genocide.

Becky Black, Ph.D.

Dr. Black holds a Ph.D. in Art History and Education and an M.A. in Art History. Working in museums and education for nearly a decade, Becky is a generalist whose art historical research focuses on issues of power and identity in British commissioned depictions of World War I, World War II and the Holocaust. Her current research in art education focuses on issues of power and identity in pedagogical practice and student engagement in undergraduate art history courses, particularly related to community building through socially engaged pedagogy.
